Physical training and movement programmes

The physical therapist can encourage an active life style by means of movement interventions and can increase fitness in people with chronic disorders.

Standards have been explicitly developed for physical therapists that make tailor-made movement programmes.

Movement programmes are also known as behavioural change programmes. People are enabled to experience positive movement experiences. The aim of programmes for people with chronic disorders is to make them change the way they reflect on themselves, especially where this concerns the relationship between (sports) movement and their disorder.
